Curious about what climbing Kilimanjaro would be like but don't have a week or more to do it? Maundi Crater is located just past Mandara Hut, the first campsite on the way to the top of Kilimanjaro. The hike begins on a well-maintained path slowly leading into the ever-increasing vegetation of the rainforest. Moving further into the forest red impatiens kilimanjari and violet impatiens pseudoviola can be found, while above Mandara Hut around Maundi Crater, protea kilimandscharica have established themselves. All indicating that you are indeed hiking the slopes of the great Mount Kilimanjaro.
